Patriarch is a wonderfully crafted play with dark complex characters and layers of context. The original Finnish production was a five-hour premiere supported by stunning video and visual effects. My challenge was to cast and edit the story down to less than half its run time for an American audience. Fortunately the 150-seat house responded with humbling gratitude for the story and talented ensemble cast starring acting veterans Barbara Rosenblatt (OITNB) and Anthony Laciura (Boardwalk Empire).
