Eddie Shieh 謝宗楷 (pronounced ‘She’+’yeah’, not ‘She’) is a Native New Yorker, Asian Tourist, Twindad by day and Filmmaker at Night as writer, director and producer.

Eddie has been a fellowship nominee to the NBCUniversal Television Directing and Fox Global Directors Initiative programs. His short works have won Best Direction, Actor, Actress, Ensemble Cast, Cinematography, Editing and Original Soundtrack with numerous nominations in multiple categories from Academy® Qualifying and international festivals. He directed the semi-finalist short play “That Kid” written by Jane Willis for the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival 2016. His original screenplay “La Grippe” was shortlisted at the first European Sundance Screenwriters Lab 2015 (Italy). Eddie is a member of the Writers Guild of America since optioning his first script in 2007. His passion for story stems from a former life as an advertising agency creative director for worldwide brands.

Eddie also found and curated the Red Rope® Screening and Red Rope® Playhouse sponsored annual networking series presenting internationally acclaimed films and theater works by emerging artists. In 2008 New York Magazine listed Red Rope® Playhouse as a New York Top 20 event. Partners have included New York Magazine, Adidas Classics, Ogilvy & Mather, Moet Hennessy brands, Heineken brands, Stoli brands and others.

Other: platinum blond for two years; trampled by former New York Knicks 250lbs Power-Forward Anthony Mason (RIP); won a fist-pumping volley over John McEnroe; placed Third in the New York Queens Borough Eighth Grade Science Fair; and predicts weather with his surgically repaired joints – no app yet.
